Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care is a ministry of reaching inward to people in our congregation when they need help.  The list of what is done by this ministry is limited only by the requests.  Some of the help that is offered includes the following: food when people are ill, rides to appointments with physicians, Christmas baskets to shut-ins and social events for single seniors.

Pastoral Care

You are enthusiastically encouraged to attend meetings of these groups and learn more about how you can participate in providing love and care to members of our congregation.  Further, please call the church when you are ill or need help.  We REALLY want to help in any way we can.
“WE ARE CHURCH” means we help each other.  No, it’s not an imposition!

Contact the chair of the commission, Joan Bard or any member of the clergy should you or someone you know need help.

Healing Ministry

The Healing Ministry is a prayer ministry.  Prayers are offered for people on a daily basis and during the monthly meetings.  In addition, during the service prayers are offered at the prayer bench as people return from communion. Privacy and confidentiality are scrupulously maintained.  The members of this ministry send cards and provide prayer shawls for people to remind them that they are surrounded by prayers during difficult times.

The meetings are on the first Saturday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the library.

A Transitional Prayer,

Almighty and Loving God,

We pray for our community during this time of transition. We pray that your presence may be known among us, guiding us in our journey. Help us to understand this time as holy, a time for discovery, renewal, and joy. We pray for the gifts of courage, patience, perseverance and discernment.  And when it is your will to do so, grant us a servant who will travel our new road with us – in your time, not ours.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
