The Episcopal Church is known for its liturgy, and it is to our worship that we look for a sense of who we are in relation to God and one another.

The Liturgy Commission consists of leaders of various areas described below and is chaired by our rector. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Study. We review and plan for recent and upcoming worship services and oversee the personnel and property needs of the worship space. We also pray together and spend time thinking about the ‘why’ of liturgy in relation to the choices we make.

Ministers of Hospitality serve as greeters on Sundays mornings and help direct the collection and presentation of gifts during the Eucharist. We’ve found that this is a particularly good ministry for new members, as they have recent experience of walking into an unknown sanctuary and worshipping community, and it also provides them with a chance to get to know many people by face and name. Lectors read the Old and New Testament scripture lessons during the service while Intercessors lead the Prayers of the People. Members are generally invited to become Lectors and Intercessors, but if you feel drawn to these ministries in worship, please contact the rector or Pat Quant.

A Eucharistic Minister is a lay person who assists the clergy at the altar during communion, generally by administering the cup of wine to communicants. Some of the Eucharistic Ministers are also Eucharistic Visitors. These people take the communion elements and a brief service to shut-ins, members of the congregation who are not able to come to church regularly. We also take the greetings and friendship of fellow parishioners to those we visit. People need a diocesan license to become EMs or EVs. Contact: Members of the clergy
The Altar Guild is a group of women and men whose main activity is to prepare the church sanctuary for weekly worship. We would be happy to talk about this fascinating and important ministry with you. Contacts: Jane Keltner
