Called to Right Relationship (C2RR)

Do you have keys to the church?  The Diocese of California has put together a thoughtful, long-needed policy for all of the churches in the Diocese.

This policy was passed at the October General Convention which means we all must comply.  In short, the C2RR policy requires that everyone who has a key to congregational facilities complete a background check and the online safe church training. It's good facility management. Fortunately, it's easy and fast.

Six (6) easy steps to completing this on-line Program
  1. Log onto: http://www.diocal.org/
  2. Click, "Resources" and then "Safe Church Policies: Called to Right Relationship"
  3. In the middle of the page click the link:  http://shieldthevulnerable.org
    1. Click the "1st Time Diocese Signup" tab
    2. Select "Episcopal Diocese of California" from the list
  4. Create your own user name & password.  This feature enables you to "log out" of the training if you don't have time to finish in one setting.  When you log back in, you will be taken to the  point where you left off.
  5. Please PRINT OUT THE CERTIFICATE and give to Leslie our Parish Administrator.  Christian Educators, please give your certificates to Melissa.
  6. Time allotment:  1.5 hours and, again, you don't have to do it all in one sitting.
Additional thoughts:  There are exercises throughout the on-line course intended to reinforce the training.  Any wrong answers are not counted so continue clicking until you reach the correct answer.

Thank you for safeguarding this church!

A Transitional Prayer,

Almighty and Loving God,

We pray for our community during this time of transition. We pray that your presence may be known among us, guiding us in our journey. Help us to understand this time as holy, a time for discovery, renewal, and joy. We pray for the gifts of courage, patience, perseverance and discernment.  And when it is your will to do so, grant us a servant who will travel our new road with us – in your time, not ours.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
